2) The pay per click program.

This model will pay you every time someone clicks on the ads that you put on your site. One of the best known examples is Google Adsense, where you place their ads on your site. Most of the time, you will be placing relevant content around the ads, so readers might just click on one of the ads while reading.

For this to work, you need to be drive consistent traffic to your site so that the chances of people clicking on the ads will be higher.

3) The cost per action program.

Here you get paid every time when someone takes the desired action, like filling in a survey, or subscribing to a newsletter. This is also known as CPA, where the merchant pays you a certain price if you refer traffic to them.

These are the 3 different ways that you can use to earn as an affiliate, without any selling.
