I’ve been invited to join a new web site, called PayBox.me, and I would like to hear your opinion about it.

Here’s what they promise:

“It’s free to sign up, and you will get $25 for opening a new account. PayBox will add up to $20 per day to your account for participating as we prepare to launch our new service… You also get $10 per person you refer to PayBox. You’ll help shape the development of the best payment system ever designed for the Internet. You could have hundreds or thousands of dollars in your account by the time we launch, without ever making a deposit!”
 
Sounds too good to be true, so is it a scam? 
 
Well, the first thing to understand about the Paybox statements above is that Paybox has its own currency… in other words; Paybox dollars are not US dollars. 
 
Paybox says it intends to develop a currency that will exchange with currencies worldwide. 
 
According to the PayBox.me terms of service:
 
“All account balances are held in PayBox currency. PayBox maintains a currency that is autonomous and independent of all nations and governments. The PayBox currency is denominated in dollars and cents (similar to the currency of the United States and over 20 other countries). The PayBox currency is currently in a closed system, and cannot be exchanged or spent. Our plans include person-to-person transactions, integration with merchants and shopping cart systems, and more. The value of our currency is estimated to be close to that of the U.S. dollar. As is the case with any currency, once the PayBox currency becomes openly exchangeable, its value as weighted against other world currencies can and will fluctuate due to forces beyond our control.”
 
You should think of it as Linden dollars in Second Life. You can use Linden money to buy stuff in Second Life, but not in the real world.

Remember, the 25 dollars you get as a sign up fee are not real 25 US dollars. The Paybox currency is not currently exchangeable for US dollars – or anything – so you can’t use them. If the service goes live in 2011, Paybox says that their currency will be in the international exchange system and users will be able to spend their dollars and make and accept payments online. 
 
You can’t tell for now what the value of your 25 dollar sign up fee may eventually be. It could, theoretically, be around 25 US dollars (not probably) or it could be 5 cents… If Paybox fails, the value will clearly be nil. So, you are warned
 
Having said that, Paybox is more likely to be a simple email address collecting venture than a scam. They promise you Paybox money for filling in online surveys. However, there’s always a chance that it could turn into something profitable. Nobody can tell right now.

Here’s an easy to use marketing technique that will increase your online profits by using the power of a “downsell”.

Now, what is a “downsell”, I hear you ask?

Okay, let me explain it for you.

You probably know what an “upsell” is.

The online bookstore Amazon.com uses upsells all the time. When you add a book or DVD to your shopping list, they offer you another book or DVD that may also interest you – and sometimes at a special discount.

A downsell is the exact opposite of an upsell…

When a potential customer leaves your sales page without buying your main offer, you bring up another (lower priced) offer to them via a popup, or an exit page.

People who considered buying your first offer -but didn’t- will already be in a “buying mood”, and it will take little effort to make them buy your low-entry product.

To maximize your downsell, always offer a relevant product. Even if you’re only charging $7 for your downsell product, you need to make sure that your product is something that your potential customers will actually want. It’s also a good idea to use the principles of scarcity and urgency here.

Here’s a simple -but highly effective- tip that will show you how to make more sales for an(y) affiliate program that you promote online.

You know the problem… When a new product launches, marketers all over the Net shoot out emails to their lists, hoping to make a product sale, and earn their instant commission.

Now, how can you compete with all these marketers, when trying to make people buy from your link? Well, the best way is to be different.

You will get the best result by not sending out the pre-written promo email that you get when you sign up for the affiliate program, like all the others do. Instead, try to stand out from the rest by writing in your own personal style about the product that you promote.

When possible, use the product yourself. You can ask the owner a free copy if you don’t want to buy it… since you will promote the product/program as an affiliate, most owners will agree to give you a copy in return for the free promotion that you will send them… 

Then, write an honest review about the product, tell people what they can expect to receive, how the product will be delivered (via instant download, or postal mail) and finally, how it will help them to achieve a certain task that saves them time/money.

Another way to dramatically increase your chances of getting a sale as an affiliate  is to offer some kind of incentive if someone buys the offer through YOUR referral link. Whether it’s an Ebook, a collection of special report or access to a video or audio recording.

Here’s an example that I recently set up on my website. It’s a collection of 6 niche Ebooks that I give away to people who buy a (low-priced) product via my affiliate link. I simple ask them to email me a copy of their receipt after their purchase, and then I send them their download links in a simple email.

Works every time…

Just beware… in order to make your bonus offer bring in results, it must be unique and useful, so people will really want to have it. Don’t give away some bonus that anyone can download all over the place for free. People are smart these days, and they know how to use Google

If you don’t have anything to offer, you can easily buy resell rights to a product (an Ebook, video or audio, etc) or hire a ghostwriter to create a small report. Just make sure that your bonus gift fits with the affiliate product, and you will soon see more affiliate sales landing in your inbox.

The most simple formula for making sales online, from just about any niche you can think of, is very simple:

1. You need a squeeze page that converts visitors into subscribers – and then…

PLR content (Private Label Rights) may be a very powerful resource for anyone trying to get ahead on the internet. Not only can PLR ebooks and PLR articles be picked up for a quite small price; they also are valuable because most of the research and writing has already been done for you.

But PLR ebooks and articles may be risky. For many online businesses are acquainted with the value of Private Label Rights content and are using it on a regular basis. In real figures, the same PLR ebooks and PLR articles may have been sold to hundreds or even thousands of customers, who then may have published the material on their sites, with or without changing it extensively.

How to succeed with PLR material

The key to making money with PLR articles and PLR ebooks is therefore this: you must prepare to rewrite every PLR ebook and article so that it becomes truly different. If you follow that rule, you will reduce the probability of being penalized by the search engines. Having exclusive content will always be a plus as seen from the viewpoint of the search engine robots.

Another reason is, naturally, the potential customers: who likes to come to a new website and take part of the exact same text as on one of the competing sites? So even though the search engines very well may have overlooked a duplicate or near-duplicate article or ebook, your visitor may perhaps not be quite as tolerant. To serve your customers well, adequately rewritten articles and e-books are simply a must.

Modify the title

Occasionally Private Label Rights materials have ill-chosen titles. Therefore, you may wish to change it into a title that is more focused. For proper search engine optimization (SEO), you should be very careful to choose the correct title.

Note, however, that even if the PLR title is NOT badly chosen, you may still have to adjust it, to make it truly unique. In any case, you might want to play around with Google’s free keyword tool to see which title might be most suitable.

Rearrange paragraphs

One way to “rewrite” a PLR article or ebook is simply to reorganize the paragraphs in the document. By putting one paragraph before another, the total flow of the article (or ebook) can become significantly better. And the beauty of it is that there is no actual typing involved!

Delete paragraphs

Another approach to “rewrite” a PLR article or ebook is simply to delete a paragraph or two. Sometimes (especially in low-quality PLR material) there might be a lot of fluff that simply isn’t advisable to keep, if one aims for a high-quality e-book or article.

Alter paragraphs

This is a technique by which you in essence retain the same main ideas in the paragraph, but you state them in a different way. Instead of retaining the text “PLR articles are articles that have Private Label Rights”, you might do a rewrite like this: “PLR texts are electronic texts that grant the owner Private Label Rights.”

Make paragraphs more extensive

Although extending a paragraph unquestionably is a way to rewrite a paragraph (and thus might potentially be a part of the previous point), I nevertheless wish to keep this idea as a separate point. It is by this method that you can make your PLR article or ebook even more unique, and significantly more valuable to your readers.

By the further development of an article I mean extending its specific content. You could, for example, add new points, new reasons, new arguments, new questions, or new data.

Such an expansion may now and then result in very long paragraphs, so you may want to consider splitting up the longer paragraphs into several shorter ones. This is only an advantage, for it makes your ebook or article even less of a duplicate of the original PLR material.

Insert Relevant Links

Some PLR content packs include helpful links and keywords that were used to create the content. In some cases you may want to use those links in your articles and ebooks. In other cases you may decide to use your own product links or your own affiliate links to make more money.

Be very cautious, however, with relevance. Do not include links that are not relevant to the main text. For example, in an article on how to bake salmon, don’t bring in an affiliate link to your “solar power” product or to another article on, say, your expertise as a dog trainer. Be relevant!

Some final remarks

It is true that PLR ebooks and PLR articles may increase your online profits if done properly. One step toward success is to be very cautious to rewrite the articles and ebooks in such a way that they become not only unique but also valuable to your potential customers.

Adding other items to your article or e-book, such as graphics or videos, may make your visitors even more delighted. So give your articles and ebooks the individual touch your readers are searching for, and then wait for conversions!
